ABOUT
Oakey is an emerging contemporary artist based in Adelaide whose work traverses sculpture and site-specific installations. Working out of George St Studios, she uses a range of materials, creating works for both urban and natural environments.
Oakey’s experiences of being fully immersed in an array of natural environments has created a deep fascination in the interconnectedness of the living world and our relationship to it. It is these connections, unseen forces, networks and spaces, on a cellular and cosmic level that she considers in the process of creating her work.
Threads that also weave through Oakey’s work include: biophilia, spiritual ecology, phenomenology and how we engage with the space around us.
